BiS: The Rules

1. General Rules

1.1 - BiS is a 25-man raiding guild, first and foremost. Our aim is to conquer the latest raiding content and clear all old content.

1.2 - In order for BiS to function correctly, we require all members to have a full knowledge of the rules of the guild, therefor u need to sign up as member for this website with your in game character name in the guild. Updates will be announced as and when they apply.

1.3 - Anyone bearing guild tag is an ambassador for the guild, and it is his/her responsibility to refrain from offending both guild and non-guild members when dealing with or talking to them. Disobeying the rule might lead to guild kick.

1.4 - Anyone found to be tarnishing the reputation of the guild, using banned addons/cheats/programs or selling characters etc., will be removed from the guild.

1.5 – The word of an officer or raid leader is final, and should be treated as final.

1.6 - All members of BiS are highly encouraged to avoid excessive use of AOL language.

2. Guild

2.1 - Guild members should refrain from spamming the guild chat when possible. Members are to be considered adults and should act accordingly. Remember that this guild consists of many people of different nationalities and ages, therefore things which you don't find offensive might be so for others.

2.2 - Guild bank:

We encourage members to donate useful items they may not need to the guild bank. The first tab is set aside for this, however It is not in any way a replacement for proper farming of raid consumables.

2.3 - Characters:

As we are a raiding guild, a large number of alt characters dilute loot progression and harm our chances of defeating encounters. Alts or non-raiding members will not be allowed in raids, unless specific permission has been granted by the raid leader.

2.4 – Alts

A member is allowed to have as many alts as they wish but if the alt is inactive for too

long it will be kicked and will need to be re-invited.

2.6 – Guild ranks

The following ranks are currently in operation:

GM

Officers

Bankers

Raider

Alt

Trial

Social

2.7 – General guidelines

Actions that we encourage:

* Respect other guild members

* Participating in Guild-chat. The more we talk, the more we get to know each other! esspecially when this happens on TS

* Treating other players with respect

* Helping guild members out when you have time to spare

* Doing guildruns in hc and old content

Actions that we discourage:

* Continual help request from low level alts

* Gear and loot bragging

* Spamming Guild-chat

* Not sharing loot with the party, aka ninja-looting

* Stealing monsters from others, or ninja-pulling

* Badmouthing other players behind their backs

* Telling other players how they should play their class in a patronizing way

* Immature behaviour of any manner

3. Raiding

3.1 – Voice communication

When raiding, all members must be on TeamSpeak3. Failure to do this will result in removal from raids. Repeated failure without having a strong reason, could lead to demotion.

Whining on TeamSpeak will not be accepted as it disrupts raids. If you have a valid point to make, make it in a civilized manner, in whisper, towards an officer present in raid. Casual banter is encouraged, within reasonable limits, and not during boss fights.

TeamSpeak can be used at your leisure outside raid times.

3.2 – Discipline

When raiding you should always follow your raid leader's directions. If you have suggestions of changes in strategy, you can discuss these in whisper between wipes, with an officer. Unfounded whining however, is not accepted; if you don't have anything constructive to be said about the strategy in question, don't say it at all. There should also be no backseat raid-leading. Yelling and/or other inappropriate behaviour can result in removal from raid and loss of any earned EP for that raid.

3.3 – Attendance

There are 4 raid days a week in BiS and raid attendance is expected to be over 66%.

However, it can be diffrent in some cases, but always chat with an officer of RL about it.

3.4 – Standby

It will not be possible to fit everyone into the raid group at all times. We aim to have a fair rotation for this but at certain boss fights some people will have priority due to the demands of the fight in question. Even if you are not in the instance group, you will still receive 100% EP for that raid. If your main character is in the raid group and online, your attendance will be recorded.

What you do on standby is entirely up to you, it might be playing an alt, fighting in a battleground or basically anything you fancy as long as you are ready to join the instance group the moment you are called for. Failure to do so will result in losing EPGP earned for the raid. If you are on an alt (and obviously in the standby channel) make sure the officers know who you are.

3.5 - Pugging

It is not allowed for raiders / trialist to participate in, set up, join, help out in any normal, heroic or mythic run which isnt set up by the guild (gm`s / officers!)

Penalty to this is 100.000 GP.   (yes really this high!)

3.6 - Mandatory addons

When raiding with us you are required to have any Boss Mod addon. While we trust you to know the fight mechanics and react accordingly, timers and visual warning do help to cooperate with other raiders. Other addons that are required can be found in the raiding rules.

Recount is not required and can even be discouraged on some action heavy fights.

Addons that exchange large quantities of information with other players while at the same time not being useful for raiding are forbidden. Players found using them in raid will be asked to turn them off. Repeated usage of such addons can lead to being demoted.

3.7 – Fun

While raiding is serious business it is also about having fun. Bitching about wiping is a sure way to annoy the raid leaders. Wipes happen, and occasionally comedy wipes too, if you can't deal with it, don't join.

3.8 – Raid planner

All members are required to use the raid planner (in-game calender), and to the best of their ability keep it updated.  Be signed up 6 hours before raid time.

3.9 – Raid start

Raid members are expected to turn up to a raid at the rally point 10 minutes before the raid time. If you know you are going to be late due to work or whatever, send the RL a in game mail and log outside the raid instance to keep the inconvenience to a minimum.

3.10 – Major errors

Penalties may be given for serious errors during raids, but the aim is to make raids as fun as possible so try not to push things too far and the raid leaders wont be forced to take action they do not wish to.

3.11 – Consumables

Members are still required to have their own flasks, potions and food. Gold is a non-issue in recent World of Warcraft and any complaining about this will not be accepted. Guild crafters can help create these for you. When the raid leader calls for flasks and double potions, all raiders must use them. This is not arguable.

3.13 - Raid schedule, in game time (GMT+1):

Wednesday 20.00-23.00

Thursday 20.00-23.00

Sunday 20.00-23.00

Monday 20.00-23.00

End times are approximates, raids can be somewhat longer or shorter but we aim to end raids at the given time.

The other days are off days, but will frequently be used for raiding old content or alt raids. Attendance is of course entirely optional, however if you still need upgrades, that can be acquired outside main guild raids, you are expected to use this time to get them. This time should also be used to practise your offspecc.

Invites start at 19:50. Whines for latecomers will not be accepted.

3.14 – Disconnects

If you are disconnected  during a raid you may be replaced. We realize it probably isn't your fault, but that doesn't change the outcome.

3.15 – AFK

AFK is irritating and disrespectful to every member of the raid, and should be kept to a minimum. If you need to go AFK for any reason you should contact the raid leader so they know that you are not present. Toilet breaks should be planned so that they disrupt the raid as little as possible. If you are AFK for more than three times in a raid you will be replaced.

3.16 – Enchants and Gems

Every raiding member is expected to have the very best enchants and gems available, failure to comply will mean that the offender is demoted until the matter has been resolved.

3.18 – Raid Viable Offspec

Every raider is highly encouraged to be proficient in more than one talent specialisation. Those who declare they can play specs other than their main and show their skill in them, will be prioritised when offspec loot is given (expained further below).

When a player gains such priority on offspec loot, he or she must be ready to use the second spec when the Raid Leader deems it necessary. Failing to do so, will result in loss of offspec priority.

3.18 – Raid leaders' discretion

A raid leader may waive all of the above rules if he/she deems necessary. Complaints about this should be taken to the Guild Master or another officer after the raid. Whines during raids will be ignored.

4. Loot Distribution

4.1 - EPGP we use EPGP as loot distribution for raids.

4.1.1 - gp penalty, in case a raider does sign up (also tentative) but fail to show without a given reason there will be a gp penalty of 300 GP

4.2 – Erroneous EPGP

If you believe there is an error in the calculation of your or someone else's epgp, please post on the forum. The issue will be addressed and hopefully resolved.

4.3 - Offspec Loot

Loot that is deemed a sidegrade, downgrade, or irrelevant for all mainspecs, is eligible for offspec looting. This does not cost any GP. Raid viable offspecs will always be prioritised when distributing offspec loot. If more than one raider with a viable offspec needs an item, we use EPGP priority. If there are no viable offspecs the looter is determined by random rolling between anyone who can use it and wants it.

4.4 – Forcing

Loot may be forced on you if officers deem it an upgrade over current gear. Arguments around this should be kept to a minimum. In the event that you can prove that it is worse then that should be taken up after the raid, in which case the item will be removed from your loot table.

5. Officers

5.1 - Listen to what they tell you. Failure to do so can result in a demote or even removal from the guild.

5.2 - If you have any problems with any other member of the guild, talk to an officer first, they should all be able to help you. If you have complaints about an officer please contact the Guild Master.

5.3 – Current officers

Guildmasters: Mastrshammy, Kamala

Officers: Isma,  Derzis and Thalyon

6. Guild Maintenance Functions

6.2 - Website Administrator

This is an officer in charge of maintaining and updating BiS website. It is his responsibility to make sure the information on the website is well displayed and valid. This includes kill-shots, EP, forum etc.

The position is permanent, unless problems arise.

The Website Administrator can allow other members to maintain the website, as he or she wishes.
